Kidderminster 0-1 Kettering

Kidderminster missed out on a play-off spot as they suffered a home defeat to Kettering Town on the final day of the season.

Substitute Ben Wright netted a close-range header in injury time to hand the Poppies all three points.

It could have been a different story as the hosts pushed in the early stages of the game. Matthew Barnes-Homer's shot from the penalty area was cleared by keeper Lee Harper. Martin Riley looked certain to score from the resulting corner, but Nicky Eaden headed his effort off the line.

Ryan Charles had the first real opportunity for the visitors, but his 30-yard rocket was held by Harriers stopper Adam Bartlett.

Barnes-Homer and Justin Richards continued to cause problems for Kettering, who saw their best chance of the half come from Gareth Seddon. He turned and controlled the ball before letting fly from 25-yards out, but Bartlett poked his shot away.

After the break, Craig Westcarr had a great chance to put the visitors in front, but his fancy-footwork gained a faint touch from Bartlett and the ball bounced back off the left post.

Both sides threatened mid-way through the second spell, but it was Alfie Potter's cross that found Wright unmarked which proved decisive.

In the 89th minute, the substitute fired his header back across goal to give Bartlett no chance and Kettering the three points.
