Mills' side happier with draw
The points were shared at Field Mill as relegation threatened Tamworth held play-off hopefuls Mansfield Town to a goalless draw.
It was a less than inspiring game of football with the relegation threatened Tamworth the happier of the two sides to take away a point.
Both teams had opportunities in the first period to break the deadlock. Bradford Pritchard headed the visitors' first corner narrowly wide and Gary Mills was later called into action to clear off the line for the Stags from an Alex Rodman effort. Andy Nicholas's long throws provided a constant threat for the Stags.
The second period saw the more fancied Mansfield gain the upper hand. Kyle Perry had a golden opportunity on 67 minutes but was halted by a great last ditch tackle from Michael Wylde. Manager David Holdsworth turned to his bench in search of the goal, bringing on Andy Burgess who made his return from illness and suspension.
It took as long as the 87th minute for the home side register their shot on target in the second half, Kyle Nix directing a tame effort towards goal, as The Lambs' defence doggedly held out for what was ultimately a rather frustrating stalemate.
