Stevenage Borough extended their lead at the top of the table on Tuesday night, while Luton Town and Cambridge United both recorded wins on home soil.

Graham Heathcote's Altrincham dealt a blow to Kettering Town's play-off aspirations with 2-0 victory at Moss Lane.

John McAliskey fired the Robins ahead in the 34th minute and Shaun Densmore made sure of the result with a well struck penalty in the 42nd minute.

Barrow AFC boosted their chances of beating the drop with a hard fought victory over Dean Saunders' Wrexham AFC at Holker Street.

The first half ended goalless but came to life in the 62nd minute when Wrexham's Mark Jones broke the deadlock.

However, the Dragons found themselves back on even terms with Barrow five minutes later when Ashley Westwood put the ball in his own net.

The Bluebirds claimed the lead in the 76th minute through Nick Chadwick and managed to hold Wrexham at bay in the final stages of the encounter to claim a valuable three points.

Cambridge United maintained their recent good run of form with a fairly comfortable win against Salisbury City at Abbey Stadium.

The Whites got off to flying start and claimed the lead in the sixth minute thanks to striker Matt Tubbs.

However, Cambridge drew level in the 23rd minute through Josh Coulson before Antonia Murray fired them into the lead with a 32nd minute strike.

Cambridge put the result beyond doubt in the 74th minute when on-loan winger Scott Neilson found the back of the net.

Ian Bogie's Gateshead bounced back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over relegation-threatened Forest Green Rovers at the Gateshead International Stadium.

The hosts drew first blood in the tenth minute through Graeme Armstrong, but the Rovers drew level in the 39th minute thanks to Daniel Powell.

However, Forest Green's celebrations didn't last long as Gateshead reclaimed the lead just three minutes later through Peter Winn.

The home side continued to press their advantage after the break and finally got the breakthrough they were looking for in the 80th minute when Brian Wake found the back of the net.

Luton Town kept their promotion dream alive with a 3-1 win against Steve Burr's Kidderminster Harriers at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters opened their account in the 23rd minute thanks to Jake Howells and were 2-0 up seven minutes later when Kevin Gallen found the back of the net.

Kidderminster managed to pull one back in the 32nd minute through James Lawrie but Gallen popped up again in the 57th minute to restore Luton's two-goal advantage.

Martin Foyle's York City kept their play-off charge on track with a narrow win against fellow hopefuls Mansfield Town at Field Mill.

The first half ended in stalemate but Courtney Pitt put the Minstermen ahead when he hit the target in the 61st minute.

League leaders Stevenage Borough extended their lead to four points after recording a 1-0 victory over Histon at Broadhall Way.

Defender Jon Ashton fired the home side ahead in the 18th minute and the solitary goal was enough to see Boro claim all three points.
