Gateshead v Barrow

Ian Bogie's Gateshead will be targeting all three points when fellow strugglers Barrow AFC make the trip to the International Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Captain Kris Gate faces a late fitness test as he struggles to shrug off a thigh strain.

New signings Andy Ferrell, Paul Heckingbottom and Wayne Buchanan are all available to make their home debuts.

Striker Steven Richardson has recovered from a hamstring injury but Wayne Phillips is still on the treatment table with the same injury.

Looking ahead to the clash, Bogie told the club's official website: "We are entering a crucial period and I am targeting four consecutive wins at the International Stadium - if we get them the situation will be a lot rosier.

"We know all about Barrow and the three games we have had with them have all been very close, but we need a win on Tuesday.

"We gifted them all three goals last week in the 3-2 FA Trophy defeat and obviously need to be much tighter defensively.

"A number of players unavailable for that game will be in the side on Tuesday and they need to have fire and passion in their belly.

"I would like to play a settled team but people haven't been doing their jobs and there are only so many chances you can give players.

"We have brought a lot of new players in and now have the opportunity to kick on. We need everyone pulling in the same direction and the supporters to get behind the team."

Barrow midfielder Rob Hulbert will miss out after picking up a suspension, while striker Gregg Blundell is also out after sustaining a head injury.

The Bluebirds currently find themselves hovering just above the dreaded drop zone with 28 points from 27 games.
