Gateshead 1-3 Ebbsfleet

Ebbsfleet continued their impressive run of form with a 3-1 win over Gateshead at Gateshead International on Saturday.

Goals by Ricky Shakes, Magno Vieira and Moses Ashikodi ensured the visitors a valuable three points.

Fleet started the game strongly as they dominated the first half-an-hour and it was no surprise when they took the lead in the 28th minute when Ricky Shakes netted from a rebound after Heed stopper Paul Farman had parried away a shot from Vieira.

Vieira then doubled his side's advantage just two minutes later when he latched onto a Dean Pooley cross and produced a cool finish to make it 2-0.

The Tynesiders were thrown a lifeline just before the interval when Peter Winn pulled a goal back after he headed home Craig Baxter's cross.

But Liam Daish's charges wrapped up the three points in the 64th minute when Moses Ashikodi took advantage of a poor back pass from Andy Ferrell and rounded the keeper to make it 3-1.
