Linnets make Mitchell deal permanent

Blue Square North outfit King's Lynn have made the loan signing of defender/midfielder Scott Mitchell permanent following talks with his parent club, Rushden & Diamonds.

Mitchell, 23, joined King's Lynn on a five month loan deal at the start of September and has impressed sufficiently to be offered a long-term deal.

The former Ipswich trainee was signed by Rushden boss Garry Hill in pre-season but failed to break into the first-team setup at Nene Park.

The versatile player can count Livingston and Peterborough amongst his former clubs and has also spent time on loan at Ipswich Town and Stevenage Borough.

He links up with team-mates Mark Peters, Ben Sedgemore and John Turner, who have all previously played for Rushden & Diamonds.
