Crawley Town v AFC Wimbledon

Crawley Town could further dent AFC Wimbledon hopes of a play-off place with a win over the Dons at Broadfield Stadium on Tuesday evening.

AFC Wimbledon have struggled in recent weeks and will need to get back to winning ways to keep up with the leading pack.

A frustrated Terry Brown saw his side draw 1-1 with Altrincham on the weekend and bemoaned a 'lack of cutting edge' from his players.

The Dons are in seventh, just four points adrift of Luton in fifth with a game in hand, with the Reds a further five points behind in ninth.

Brown told the Surrey Herald: "We knew that Graham Heathcote's sides are hard to beat and, to be fair, they did what other teams have struggled to do, getting the better of Danny Kedwell and Nathan Elder.

"We lacked a cutting edge."

Crawley come into this match in indifferent form, however, having lost one, drawn one and won one of the last three with manager Steve Evans hoping to put the recent disappointment behind him.

He told the club's official website: "You need to take your chances when they come and we failed to do that. We got off to the worst possible start in the second half, you just cannot let in a goal like we did at such a crucial time."

Evans knows though that it will be no easy task and is looking to add some steel to his squad.

"We face a very good AFC Wimbledon team here tomorrow night (Tuesday) and given we picked up a couple of injuries on Saturday we may need to get a couple of loan players in. I will be speaking to the owners and I will put it to them but I know who I want in if they sanction it.

"You cannot play the likes of AFC Wimbledon and put kids out against them, that would be a recipe for disaster in such a big match. Most have written our chances off but no one has said that of Wimbledon and should we beat them there will be two points separating us."

On the team news front, Crawley will be without skipper Adam Quinn.

AFC Wimbledon striker Jon Main is rated as a doubtful starter, along with Danny Kedwell.

Jay Conroy is banned for the Dons.
