Kenilworth Road

Luton Town v Gateshead

Mick Harford's Luton Town welcome Gateshead to Kenilworth Road on Saturday afternoon as they hope to continue their rich vein of form.

The Hatters destroyed Mansfield 4-1 during midweek action and will be looking to put The Tynesiders to the very same sword in the third round of Blue Square Premier action.

Harford has no new injury concerns ahead of the encounter but will be without the suspended Callum Reynolds after he was dismissed against Mansfield.

Gateshead head to Kenilworth Road in search of their first points in the Premier division. The Tynesiders gained promotion from Blue Square North last season and will be looking to avenge their opening day 3-0 defeat to Histon.

Injury clouds still surround midfielder Neale McDermott who is still a week away from full fitness as well as winger Martin Brittain who remains unavailable.

Manager Ian Bogie is realistic about the task that his side face upon their visit to Luton but is adamant that his side do not fear the promotion hopefuls.

"Playing Luton, Oxford, Cambridge, Wrexham and York is the prize for back-to-back promotions and going to these grounds hold no fear for us," Bogie told his clubs official website.

"Luton are a full time outfit who were only relegated from the Football League last season because of the horrendous points penalty they were handed by the FA. They are, understandably, favourites to win the Conference National but we're going to Kenilworth Road to have a right go," he added

"It is a massive game for Gateshead Football Club; the players, supporters, management and staff and while it will be tough, we'll go there to try and impose ourselves on the game," he said

"It's not in our nature, or our strength, to sit back and soak up pressure and we've got players who can cause problems for any side in this league," he concluded.
