Luton v Chester

Luton Town prepare for the visit of fellow newcomers Chester City to Kenilworth Road on Saturday afternoon as they look to keep their unbeaten record intact.

Hatters boss Mick Harford is boosted by the return of skipper Kevin Nicholls following a five-match suspension.

However, Liam Hatch, Lewis Emanuel and Ed Asafa-Adjaye will miss out once again, while Keith Keane, Asa Hall and Adam Newton will all be rested.

Harford told Luton Today: "Kevin Nicholls epitomises what Luton Town's all about. In my opinion he's a fantastic captain, a fantastic ambassador for the football club, he epitomises what we're trying to do.

"He's worked hard, he's worked tirelessly through pre-season and he's ready to come back into the team.

"Kevin's 100 per cent fit and he's been chomping at the bit for weeks and weeks, he's frustrated. He's running round kicking everyone in training and I'm just glad to have him back."

On Saturday's opponents, Harford added: "I don't know a lot about them, we've had a report on them.

"I know they're young and inexperienced, but they've got one or two experienced players in terms of Tim Ryan who is an experienced centre-half and (Nick] Chadwick who has had a good career.

"We're at home and we believe we'll be positive. When teams come down to Luton they know they're going to be in for a hard game.

"If we can raise our levels and get back to the performance against Mansfield along with the same grit and determination that we showed away at Forest Green then hopefully we can get a positive result."

Chester boss Mick Wadsworth will hand a debut to striker Lewis Alessandra, who joined the club on loan from Oldham Athletic on Friday.

Anthony Barry missed the midweek clash along with Glenn Rule and the pair will be hoping for a recall.

The Seals have made a disappointing start to the season but Wadsworth is pleading for patience from the club's supporters.

He told the Chester Chronicle: "I know what I'm doing, I've done it before and I can turn it around.

"We've just got to be patient because it's a big, big job.

"We've got to build and the board has to build. We have to get organised, get a structure with a good, strong philosophy of what we want to do.

"We can't fly by the seat of our pants anymore, we need to have plans, schemes and organisation. I know the chairman believes that and Eric Whalley coming in (as director of football) will be a great help in that."
