Westwood: Dragons must focus

Ashley Westwood has preached caution following Wrexham's excellent start to the new year in the Blue Square Premier.

The Dragons are on the up and supporters of the club have already started dreaming of a possible place in the play-offs if this form continues.

However, Westwood insists that the team cannot get ahead of themselves and need to stay focused on a game-by-game basis.

The skipper told the Daily Post: "To be honest, I never look further ahead than the next game we play.

"It's an old cliche, but we have to take each game as it comes and in this league we cannot afford any complacency or to treat any team other than with the greatest respect.

"Sometimes it's those games that you are expected to win that are the hardest.

"But we have a bit of momentum behind us now and a few players are finding their best form.

"The feeling around the place is that the next game can't come quickly enough, which is encouraging for everyone, but we cannot afford to get carried away just yet."
