Saunders: Dragons must bounce back

Manager Dean Saunders is confident that his Wrexham team can hit back in their next two games after a surprise loss to Eastbourne on the weekend.

And the Dragons boss is adamant that a late charge for the play-offs is not beyond his team, despite the 2-1 defeat at Priory Lane.

Two defensive errors cost Wrexham, who now have the chance as soon as Tuesday night to put things right when Tamworth visit the Racecourse. Saunders's side were unbeaten in four fixtures before Saturday's game and will hope for an immediate return to form.

The Dragons' boss told the Daily Post, "you can't give away goals like we did today and we've got to get ourselves up for another battle now.

It's vital we bounce back because we dropped below our standards today and we didn't play like I want us to play."

Wrexham follow up the Tamworth fixture with a visit to troubled neighbours Chester City next Sunday.

Saunders added: "If we can win on Tuesday and next weekend we will still be going all right.

"We've got 20 games or so left and we can still end up with six points by next Sunday."
