Tamworth 2-4 Mansfield Town

Mansfield Town moved to within a spot of the play-off places with a 4-2 win over Tamworth at the Lamb Ground on Saturday.

Goals from Rob Duffy, Jon Shaw, Andrew Nicholas and Blair Sturrock ensured that the visitors came away with all three points.

Duffy put the Stags ahead after just 17 minutes after Scott Garner flicked-on for him and he slotted the ball home from inside the area.

However, their joy was short-lived as Michael Wilde levelled things up just two minutes later when he got onto the end of a Tom Shaw cross and headed the equaliser.

But it didn't take David Holdsworth's charges long to re-take the lead as Shaw blasted home a volley from 15 yards out to make it 2-1.

Nicholas then gave his side a two-goal cushion going into the interval when he drilled a half volley into the back of the net after Duffy had flicked on for him.

Substitute Jerome Murdock pulled a goal back for the home side just after the break when he beat a couple of defenders and sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 3-2.

Sturrock wrapped up the three points for the Stags three minutes from time when he scored after being played through on goal by Jon Challinor.

Tamworth bookings: Briscoe, Shaw, Pritchard.

Mansfield bookings: Duffy.

Att: 1,389.

Ref: Jake Collin (Merseyside).
