Mansfield Town striker Aaron O'Connor is relishing the fight for a starting berth following the recent arrival of on-loan hitman Emile Sinclair.
Manager Billy McEwan has a wealth of options in attack, with Mark Stallard, Jason Lee, Anthony Robinson and O'Connor vying for a starting berth alongside on-loan Forest striker Sinclair.
O'Connor missed Mansfield's 2-1 defeat to Wrexham but watched on as Sinclair scored a goal on his debut to put the Stags ahead early on.
The Stags have now suffered four consecutive defeats and O'Connor believes the competition for places will spur his fellow frontmen to start banging in the goals and turn things around.
He told This is Mansfield Town: "I came to the club knowing I was going to be fighting for a shirt.
"With the boss getting in more competition up front, that has got to be a good thing.
"There is always intense competition up front at a club, but now there is five it will be really tough, but also help to bring out the best in people.
"Who gets picked has nothing to do with age or reputation.
"We all have different attributes and strengths but there are no favourites."
