York 0-1 Eastbourne Borough

York suffered a shock home defeat to Eastbourne Borough in the Blue Square Premier on Saturday, ending their 10-month unbeaten home run.

Liam Enver-Marum scored the only goal to lift his side out of the relegation zone with York in third spot on 60 points, a mere five points ahead of Kettering in fifth.

The home side dominated much of the tie but were unable to convert their limited chances. David McGurk enjoyed their best effort as he connected to a cross from the right but he was off-balance as he shot and missed the target.

Chances were few and far between with neither side really threatening in front of goal.

That was until former Woking striker Enver-Marum found the target in the 70th minute after beating Luke Graham and James Meredith in the York defence to hit home inside Michael Ingham's near post.

Richard Pacquette enjoyed York's best chance after coming in off the bench in the second half as he volleyed against the crossbar before smashing over the bar.

Enver-Marum so nearly had two late on as Ingham Michael Ingham dropped his well-hit shot before Pacquette threatened again. But it wasn't to be as Borough held on.
