Martin Foyle

Bath City 2-2 York

Martin Foyle's York City twice rallied from behind to earn a share of the spoils with Bath City at Twerton Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Mintermen started brightly and came close to claiming the lead in the 3rd minute when striker Richard Brodie fired wide of the left-hand post from inside the area.

Bath had a narrow miss of their own when midfielder Adam Connolly saw his effort hit the post.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 38th minute when Adie Harris smashed a 30-yard strike into the top right corner.

However, York rallied well and leveled the scoreline in the 43rd minute thanks to Michael Gash's headed effort from deep inside the penalty box.

The Romans reclaimed the lead in the 66th minute when Lee Phillips fired into the top left corner from inside the penalty area.

York were up to the challenge and drew level again in the 81st minute when substitute Peter Till found the back of the net with a strike from inside the area.

In fact, Foyle side had the chance to snatch all three points in injury time but Gash's effort from outside the box failed to hit the target.

Bath bookings: Hogg.

York bookings: None.

Ref: Matthew Bristow (Manchester).

Att: 1,145.
