Forest Green 3-4 Tamworth

Forest Green's relegation woes continue as they went down 4-3 to Tamworth at the New Lawn on Easter Monday.

Conal Platt bagged a brace to go with Daniel Powell's early opener, but it was not enough as the visitors prevailed thanks to goals by Tom Shaw, Bradley Prichard, Jake Sheridan and Iyseden Christie.

In an entertaining clash, Rovers drew first blood when Powell fired in from six yards after being set-up by Reece Styche barely two minutes in.

However, Shaw drew level with a penalty just four minutes later.

Prichard then gave the Lambs the lead in the 37th minute, but it was short-lived as Platt soon struck with a 20-yard free-kick to make it 2-2 at the break.

After the restart, Christie set up Sheridan for Tamworth before scoring himself in the 74th minute to make it 4-2.

Platt then slotted a late penalty five minutes from time - after Michael Briscoe handled in the area - to ensure a nervous final few minutes for the visiting fans.

The defeat leaves Rovers battling for survival in 21st place on the Blue Square Premier table, while Tamworth are in comparative comfort in 15th place.
