The Shay
Halifax avoided the Blue Square Premier drop despite suffering defeat against Stevenage Borough at the Shay.
Boro went ahead following a precise free-kick from Clark Masters which hitman Steve Morrison converted in the 27th minute.
And on the stroke of half-time Gavin Grant ensured the visitors would have a comfortable two-gaol cushion going into the break.
Morrison went from hero to villain in the 64th minute though, as he gave away a penalty for intentionally handling the ball.
Jon Shaw made no mistake from the spot to give the lowly hosts a consolation goal.
The Shaymen went into the game knowing that a point would secure their safety, but following a defeat for Farsley Celtic and a draw for Altrincham - they were left to live another season in the Premier.
