Wrexham FC have signed midfielder Tom Kearney from Halifax Town on two-year deal .
The former Everton trainee will report for duty during pre-season training on Friday.
Wrexham boss Brian Little has had the 27-year-old in his sights for some time but the Shaymen's financial troubles had prevented the deal from going through.
A statement issued by Wrexham said: "We certainly didn't want to be seen to be cherry-picking Halifax's best players when they still had an opportunity of remaining in the Football Conference, but following their demotion to the Unibond League for financial reasons, it was clear they would be unable to continue with their present staffing levels."
The statement went on to claim that the transact5ion with Halifax had been "very amicable".
