Jamie Taylor
Grays Athletic solidified their position in mid-table with a resounding victory over Rushden & Diamonds at the New Recreation Ground on Thursday evening.
First-half strikes from Jamie Taylor and Danny Kedwell coupled with Scott Taylor's goal 22 minutes from full-time handed the hosts the three points.
Taylor broke the deadlock for Grays on the quarter-hour mark when he made no mistake from a dozen yards out.
The score was doubled 10 minutes before the break when Kedwell made space for himself inside the box before slotting the ball past Rushden goalkeeper Martyn Margarson.
And substitute Taylor capped a brilliant display from the Gravelmen when he turned in Neil McCafferty's cross in the 68th minute.
The result sees Micky Woodward's outfit move into 12th in the Blue Square Premier standings, while Diamonds are now 15th.
