Rushden 1-0 Grays

Grays Athletic suffered another defeat on their travels when they lost 1-0 to Rushden & Diamonds at Nene Park on Tuesday night.

The defeat means that Grays have as yet, not picked up any points on their travels this season.

Marcus Kelly scored the only goal of the game when he drilled the ball into the bottom-right hand corner from of goal 25 yards out after 24 minutes.

The Diamonds were full value for the three points as they dominated much of the game and were unlucky not to win by more as Lee Phillips and Leon Knight both missed late chances.

Sean Rigg had the best of chances for the Gravelmen when he hit the crossbar from 12 yards out.

Rushden moved a step closer to the playoff places as they moved up to seventh, while Grays remain stuck in the relegation zone.
