Grays Athletic 2-0 Oxford United

Grays Athletic strengthened their chances of climbing out of relegation trouble with a superb 2-0 victory over Oxford United at the New Recreation Ground on Saturday afternoon.

The home side started the match the hungrier of the two sides and thoroughly deserved to take the lead in the 43rd minute.

Scott Forrester sent the home supporters into raptures when he found the net after picking up a pinpoint Barry Cogan pass.

Grays wrapped up the points in the 87th minute, with a strike which was nothing less than what they deserved.

Sam Sloma was the man who guaranteed the points for the home side when he smashed an Ishmael Welsh pass into the goal.

The three-points will come as a welcome boost to Grays as they go in search of safety in the Blue Square Premier.
