Rock-bottom Lewes gave their supporters something to cheer about on Saturday with a morale-boosting win over Grays Athletic at the Dripping Pan.
The visitors had more than their fair share of ball possession but were unable to break down a resilient Lewes defence.
The home side got off to flying start with Scott Taylor firing into the back of the net after just four minutes of play.
They continued to press for a second goal and were rewarded for their enterprise when Grays' Jamie Stuart fouled David Wheeler in the penalty area.
Michael Standing stepped up to take the resulting spot kick and made no mistake, calmly powering his shot past the keeper to make it 2-0.
Lewes bookings: Cullip 48, Tabiri 77.
Grays bookings: Cogan 71.
