Martin Foyle

York 0-1 Grays Athletic

York City's newly appointed manager Martin Foyle is still searching for his first victory after seeing his side slump to a home defeat at the hands of Grays Athletic on Saturday.

Foyle will be left wondering where it all went wrong as his side had more than their fair share of ball possession and goalscoring chances.

The Blues broke the deadlock after 26 minutes when Wesley Thomas collected Jamie Slabber's inviting pass and fired into the top-left corner from close range.

The hosts came close to nicking a point deep in injury time but Craig Farrell's right-footed shot from just outside the box missed the right-hand post.

York bookings: None.

Grays bookings: Wilnis 40.

Ref: R Madley.

Att: 2154.
