Grays Athletic moved up to 19th place in the league standings on Tuesday despite being held to a draw by Weymouth at New Recreation Ground on Tuesday night.
The Terras started brightly and were rewarded for their attacking play when transfer target Stuart Beavon headed Ryan Williams' cross into the back of the net in the 9th minute.
Weymouth were able to keep their counterparts stifled for the remainder of the first period and did well to keep them at bay for much of the second half.
The Blues finally drew level in the 69th minute when Stuart Thurgood's precise pass found Wesley Thomas, who fired a low shot straight down the middle and into the back of the net.
20-year-old Grays midfielder Kenny Davis had a glorious opportunity to snatch a late winner but his effort from the edge of the area missed the right-hand post.
Grays bookings: Cogan 58, Bailey 67.
Weymouth bookings: McPhee 81.
Ref: A Rayner.
Att: 415.
