Wrexham moved up to fourth place in the Blue Square Premier standings on Saturday afternoon after edging out Grays Athletic at the Racecourse Ground.
The Dragons got off to a flying start when Nathan Fairhurst collected Ryan Flynn's pass on the edge of the area and fired a shot into the bottom-left corner in the 6th minute.
The Blues clawed their way back into contention and levelled the scores on the half-hour mark thanks to Barry Cogan's shot from just outside the penalty area.
The first period ended in stalemate but Wrexham reclaimed the lead in the 54th minute when Jonathan Brown fired a free kick into the top-left corner from just outside the area.
They continued to push forward in numbers and doubled their advantage three minutes later when Flynn found the net with a headed goal from close range.
Grays tried to mount another comeback but the hosts held firm, rendering Andy Pugh's injury-time goal nothing more than a consolation.
Wrexham bookings: Williams 65.
Grays bookings: Thurgood 62, Gier 90.
