Forest Green 1-1 Grays Athletic

Grays Athletic secured a vital point in their fight to avoid the drop against fellow bottom-dwellers Forest Green Rovers at the New Lawn.

Neither side were able to assert their dominance in the first 20 minutes, but the hosts sneaked the lead through an Andrew Mangan effort.

The forward struck in the 28th minute to leave Steve Arnold stranded in goal.

Rovers held onto their advantage going into the half-time interval and looked to be heading for maximum points.

But Ishmael Welsh's shot in the 70th minute ensured Grays would gain a share in the spoils.

Just three points now separate Rovers, who are in 19th place from 22nd-seated Athletic.
