Dons snap up winger Poole

Blue Square Premier play-off hopefuls AFC Wimbledon have bolstered their midfield with the signing of left winger Glenn Poole.

The Barking-born midfielder joined Grays Athletic at the start of the season following his release by Brentford at the end of the 2008/09 season.

Dons boss Terry Brown told the club's official website: "I am absolutely delighted to announce a new addition to our squad as today we signed Glenn until the end of the season.

"Glenn was part of the very successful Brentford side which gained promotion from League 2, alongside Brett Johnson.

"Glenn is a player I know well, having played a major part in the success of Grays Athletic under Mark Stimpson.

"He is a goalscoring midfield player who is also very accomplished on set pieces. As you are aware, scoring goals from midfield is an area where I believe we haven't done enough this season.

"His role will be to supply the passes necessary for our front players and also I will expect him to make a major contribution to our goals tally.

"He is a very accomplished player on the ball and he will also add much-needed experience to our young side."
