Peter Taylor
Stevenage Borough strengthened their play-off position with an assured performance against Woking at Kingfield Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Peter Taylor's side got off to the best possible start when Tyrone Berry put in an inviting cross from the right-hand channel and Steve Morison met it with a header into the bottom-left corner.
The Cardinals battled valiantly but went further behind in the 72nd minute when Luke Oliver latched onto a Scott Mitchell free kick and placed his 12-yard shot in the top-right corner.
The visitors found themselves reduced to ten men late on when Steve Morison suffered the indignity of being shown a red card for a second bookable offence.
Woking bookings: None.
Stevenage bookings: McMahon 44, Morison 79.
Sent off: Morison 90.
Ref: J Farries.
Att: 1216.
