Cambridge United kept their hopes of claiming the Blue Square Premier title alive with a 1-0 victory at Woking on Monday night.
A power failure before kick off put the match in doubt, but when light was restored, what was to be an entertaining fixture commenced.
The home side showed the greater intent in the opening exchanges, with Liam Marum forcing a fine save out of Danny Potter early on.
The Cards' early dominance did not last forever, as the visitor's Football League credentials began to shine through.
Scott Rendell came close for the visitors with a looping header from a pin-point cross from Robbie Willmott.
Courtney Pitt should have put the U's in front before half time, but he saw two genuine goalscoring opportunities miss the target.
The home side were now content with hitting the opposition on the break. However, that tactic failed to work for them in the second period.
A tightly contested second half sprung to life in the 83rd minute when Jai Reason managed to break the deadlock with a fine strike.
That was to be his last contribution of the match, however, as he was forced off the pitch due to injury three minutes later.
United managed to hang on to their lead for the final five minutes of the match as they recorded yet another vital victory.
Woking bookings: Lambu, Quamina.
Cambridge bookings: Reason.
Referee: R Whitton.
Attendance: 1,775.
