Twerton Park
Bath City overcame Woking 1-0 in their Blue Square South play-off final on Sunday afternoon to book their spot in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
The turning point of the match, which was delayed at the start by 20 minutes as fans filtered into Twerton Park, came in the 56th minute as City scored when Kaid Mohamed converted a penalty.
The victory sees The Romans return to the top flight of non-league football, the Blue Square Bet Premier, for the first time since 1997.
Neither side could find a way through in the opening period, with both sides rather cagey during periods.
Woking felt they should have had a penalty early on in the match when Giuseppe Sole went down under a challenge from Chris Holland, but referee Justin Amey waved away the calls for a spot-kick. Cards striker Moses Ademola hit the crossbar too during the half, but the sides went into the interval level at 0-0.
Just over ten minutes into the second half City were given the chance to take the lead. Ross Warner brought down Darren Edwards in the area and the referee pointed to the spot.
Mohamed stepped up and made no mistake from the ensuing penalty to put his side in front.
Craig Faulconbridge thought he had pulled Woking back on level terms in the second half only for his effort to be ruled out due to an offside decision going against him.
Woking piled on the pressure towards the end of the encounter but City stood firm in defence to put a cherry on top of what has been a fantastic Blue Square South campaign.

"Travelled 400 miles on a round trip from Preston to see this game and what a fantastic way to spend a weekend. Credit to the Woking fans. Great laugh on the Saturday night before the game and during the match. Let's hope City stay up and I look forward to watching you at Southport & Fleetwood next season!"
