Mark Yates: Giving players a chance to shine
Kidderminster will soon be playing several games in quick succession and manager Mark Yates plans to make full use of his squad.
The team is entering an exceptionally busy period with vital games to be played in the Blue Square Premier, FA Cup and Setanta Shield. The hectic schedule means several of the fringe players will get a chance to take to the pitch and make a name for themselves.
Speaking to the Shuttle, the manager said: "Some of the players have had to be patient because we haven't made many changes to the team so far.
"But we have a lot of games coming up in November and December and they will get their chance.
"As a squad we train, win and lose together and we're just trying to keep our excellent spirit intact."
One squad member likely to start on Saturday against Grays Athletic is Martin Riley.
The 19-year-old defender would fill in for Luke Jones, who is serving a suspension he picked up after being sent off againt Norfolk. Jones will miss Saturday's game, Tuesday's Setanta Shield clash at Burton Albion and the FA Cup first round home game against Cambridge United.
"Luke [Jones] will learn from his error. I didn't see the incident but I've been told he grabbed their player," said Yates.
