Wrexham 2-2 Kidderminster

Wrexham's patchy run of form continued on Tuesday as they threw away a two-goal advantage to draw with Kidderminster at the Racecourse Ground.

An early onslaught from the hosts resulted in a 2-0 lead by the fifth minute thanks to goals from David Brown and Dean Keates. But the Dragons' defensive frailty was exposed by Nick Wright whose double salvo meant honours were shared, much to the disappointment of the home fans.

Yet it took a mere three minutes for Dean Saunders' outfit to take the lead. A big throw-in from Neil Ashton wasn't cleared by the Harriers defence and Keates nodded the ball into the danger zone for Brown, whose header looped over Danny Lewis' head to make the score 1-0.

Two minutes later the home team doubled their lead when Keates smashed a volley from the edge of the area into the back of the net.

Saunders' side seemed to be in control of the contest until the 45th minute when a long ball caused confusion amongst the Dragons' defence.

Defender Marvin Andrews failed to head his clearance out of harm's way and Wright used his body strength to hold off Declan Walker to slot in Kidderminster's opening goal.

After securing a foothold in the match, the visitors pushed for an equaliser after the interval and were rewarded in the 51st minute when Andy Morrell's misplaced pass was intercepted by Jack Byrne. He found Wright who managed to beat Shearer with a good strike from a difficult angle.

There were no further goals in the game and, at the final whistle, the home fans voiced their discontent at the result which leaves Wrexham in 19th place in the Blue Square Bet Premier while Kidderminster are 16th. Both teams have four points.
