Newport County 3-0 Kidderminster

Newport County recorded their first win of the campaign with an emphatic 3-0 home victory over Kidderminster Harriers.

The Exiles had not won in the top tier of conference football for 21 years but made light work of the visitors at Newport Stadium. Craig Reid was the star for Dean Holdsworth's side, firing in two penalties.

Former Harriers man Robbie Matthews opened the scoring for Newport with a stunning free-kick 10 minutes before the break. And it was shortly 2-0 to the home side when Reid converted from the spot after Keith Briggs had handled in the area.

Soon after the interval the Exiles had three with Matthews again involved, as he was brought down in the box by Jack Byrne to allow Reid to slot home his second.

Steve Burr's side are still without a win this campaign - slipping to the bottom three of the table.

Newport bookings: None.

Kidderminster bookings: None.
