Kidderminster 2-2 Tamworth

Jack Byrne's 89th minute header saw Kidderminster grab a much-needed point at home to Tamworth in the Blue Square Premier on Monday afternoon.

Keith Briggs had put Harriers into a first-half lead only for Kyle Perry to equalise minutes later. And Mark Albrighton's dismissal for a second yellow card appeared to have swung the tie for the Lambs after Perry fired home a second late on.

But with the tie winding down, Byrne popped up to claim a share of the spoils.

Tamworth started the stronger of the two sides with Jay Thomas and Alex Rodman testing Harriers keeper Danny Lewis before Nick Wright gave Ross Atkins a scare in the Lambs goal.

Chances continued for both sides with brothers Mike and Marc Williams involved in Harriers' best chance after 27 minutes but Atkins was well placed to deny the younger Marc after Mike's telling cross from the left.

But it was the home side, who opened the scoring after 42 minutes when Briggs let rip from the edge of the area, giving Atkins no chance.

However, Tamworth were back in the contest two minutes later as Kyle Perry headed home unchallenged in the box.

Briggs tried in vain to regain the lead for his side immediately after the restart but he was thwarted by Scott Barrow and chances became fewer and fewer as both sides scrapped for possession.

Albrighton then picked up a second yellow card in the 73rd minute to make it even harder for the Harriers, who had not looked like scoring with 11 men on the field.

But their misery was further compounded as Perry scored his second of the night with an expert volley from the edge of the box.

And despite being a goal and a mad down, it was Harriers, who most looked finding another goal.

Wright came close to finding an equaliser in the 82nd minute as he narrowly headed wide of goal before Tom Shaw's deflected cross fell to Mike Williams at the far post. Williams in turn found Byrne, who needed no encouragement to fire home with a powerful header to claim a point.
