Nigel Clough
Burton Albion dominated their Blue Square Premier encounter at Oxford Utd to revive their flagging play-off hopes.
It was a one-way affair with the home side offering little resistance to Burton's free-flowing attacking football.
Mark Greaves thought he had scored when he hit the cross bar early on but it was Daryl Clare who was credited with the opener when he smashed his effort home after 20 minutes.
All the goals were of a high standard and Keith Gilroy duly celebrated his excellent volley seven minutes later as Burton continued to control the tie.
And to make matters worse James Clarke was sent off for two bookable offences on 71 minutes.
Down to 10 men, Oxford seemed to lose their sense of purpose and soon fell further behind.
Gilroy grabbed his second with six minutes to play as he met Shaun Harrad's pass to leave the keeper stranded.
