Rovers receive Fleetwood compensation

Forest Green Rovers have announced the completion of a signed compensation agreement package with Charlton Athletic over Stuart Fleetwood.

The prolific hitman signed for the Addicks on June 16 for an undisclosed fee as due to a confidentiality clause with the Championship club no financial details can be disclosed.

FGRFC Press Officer and Club Secretary Colin Peake stated: "We are more than pleased at the outcome of our discussions with Charlton Athletic, which were finalised today (7th July).

"Everyone associated with us, wishes Stuart the very best for his future football career. He is a smashing lad with his feet firmly on the ground (he doesn't score many headers) and we are confident he will go on to even greater heights.

"We are pleased that we as a club were able to offer him a window of opportunity to rescue his career after illness.

"Once again it shows the overall strength of the Blue Square Premier and proves that players at non league level can realise their dreams".

Part of the agreement reached is a clause for Charlton to play a pre season fixture at the New Lawn in the next two seasons.
