Mansfield 3-0 Forest Green Rovers

10-man Mansfield have ended Forest Green Rovers' nine game unbeaten run in emphatic style as David Holdsworth's fantasy start as manager of the Stags continues.

Mark Stallard, Rob Duffy and Scott Garner all scored to ensure the Stags remain unbeaten at Field Mill under Holdsworth. The defence was typically resolute, keeping alive another trend that has developed under the new manager - that of not conceding any goals.

Stallard opened the scoring after 10 minutes, nipping in undetected and heading home a Ryan Williams' cross.

In the 52nd minute, Garner was shoved in the back by Alex Lawless and the referee awarded the penalty. Duffy finished from the spot with clinical precision, with the keeper picking the right direction but unable to get down in time.

In first half injury-time Rovers' striker Andrew Mangan was sent off, after mumbling something under his breath at the referee.

Then in the 72nd minute, it was ten men apiece, when Matt Somner was given his marching orders following a kick at Rovers' substitute Adriano Rigoglioso. The Referee went straight for the red card.

Garner would settle the result for Mansfield in the 80th minute, heading in a free kick to finish the game as a contest.

Mandsfield bookings: Silk, Somner, Stallard,

Forest Green bookings: Platt, Ayres, Jones.
