Luton Town 2-1 Forest Green

Richard Money's Luton Town kept their play-off campaign on track with a hard fought victory over Forest Green Rovers at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday evening.

The Hatters started brightly with Kevin Gallen and Tom Craddock both coming close to finding the net on a number of occasions.

The Rovers finally lodged their first effort on goal in the 27th minute but David Brown's low driven shot was collected comfortably by Luton goalkeeper Mark Tyler.

Luton finally got the breakthrough they were looking for in the 37th minute when Craddock was brought down in the penalty area by Rovers defender Jared Hodgkiss.

The referee pointed straight to the spot and Craddock calmly converted the penalty to give his side the lead.

The visitors upped their game after the half-time break as Brown and Danny Powell both came close to putting them back on even terms with Luton.

Forest Green finally levelled the scoreline in the 81st minute when Janos Kovacs was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.

Conal Platt stepped up to take the penalty and made no mistake, planting the ball in the bottom left-hand corner to ensure a tense finish to the encounter.

However, it was Craddock who had the last say as he popped up in injury time fire past Ireland after having his initial effort blocked by the Rovers goalkeeper.

Luton bookings: Pilkington, Craddock.

Forest Green bookings: Powell.

Referee: Russell Fletcher (Derbyshire).

Attendance: 5,884.
