Hayes & Yeading 3-4 Forest Green

A Ben Wright hat-trick was not enough for Hayes and Yeading as they went down in a 4-3 thriller to Forest Green Rovers at Church Road on Tuesday night.

Jon Else's 90th minute strike bagged all three points for the visitors as he joined Wright (39, 55, 69), Reece Styche (28), Lee Harrison (47 og) and Curtis McDonald (63) on a congested scoresheet.

Styche opened the goal-fest when he fired in for Rovers just shy of the half-hour mark.

Wright hit back from the spot following a hand-ball by McDonald to leave the scores level at the break.

Two minutes after the restart, goalkeeper Harrison gifted the lead to The Green when he fumbled a Lee Smith cross into the area.

The see-saw contest continued as Wright equalised from close-range before McDonald fired home just past the hour-mark.

Wright came to his side's rescue yet again shortly after but his celebrations were short-lived as Else's last-gasp effort secured the points.

The result leaves United tenth on the Blue Square Bet Premier table, while Forest Green are in fourth place.

Hayes and Yeading booked: Hand, Ferrell.

Forest Green booked: Norwood, Smith.

Att: 286.

Ref: R Atkin (Hampshire).
