Eddie Anaclet
Blue Square Premier club Stevenage Borough have snapped up highly-rated defender Eddie Anaclet from league rivals Oxford United.
The 22-year-old defender was out of contract at Kassam Stadium and has made the switch to Broadhall Way on a two-year deal.
Boro boss Graham Westley has been a long-time admirer of Anaclet's talents and wasted no time in offering the former Southampton trainee a contract.
"It's no secret that Graham (Westley) has long been an admirer of Eddie and this is the sort of deal you miss if your management is not in place early," Stevenage chairman Phil Wallace told the club's official website.
"The boy has loved his time at Oxford, but felt it was time for a change and a fresh start.
"As he's under 24 and been offered re-engagement by Oxford, with whom we have an excellent relationship, I'll be contacting their chairman soon to agree a fee for the release of his registration."
Meanwhile, midfielder Daryl McMahon has committed to his future at the club by penning a new two-year deal.
McMahon signed for Boro in January 2007 and has made 54 first-team appearances, scoring eight goals in the process.
