Ebbsfleet United hit struggling Altrincham with a relegation hammer-blow as they ran out 2-0 winners on Saturday afternoon.
The home side had the better of the proceedings from the start and should have taken the lead early on.
They did, however, in the 40th minute when Chris McPhee finished off a perfect Michael Bostwick pass from the right channel.
The second half started how it ended for the home side as they doubled their lead on 53 minutes.
Stacy Long was the man credited with the goal when he slotted home a John Akinde pass from 18 yards out.
The visitors tried to mount a challenge towards the end, but the home defence was resolute as the match ended in a victory for United.
