Altrincham 2-2 Crawley

Crawley Town snatched a point at Altrincham after Glenn Wilson scored with two minutes to go to earn his side a 2-2 draw.

Altrincham started out the more brightly of the two sides and they were rewarded for their early dominance when a superbly struck free-kick by Michael Welch from 25 yards out gave the home side the lead after 27 minutes.

But Steve Evans' side fought their way back into the game when they managed to find an equaliser just four minutes later through striker Isaiah Rankin's volley from eight yards out.

Robins boss Graham Heathcote must have had some stern words for his side during the interval after they missed a number of chances in the first-half and it seemed to have the desired affect as they came out firing on all cylinders in the second period.

The home team's pressure finally told when Shaun Densmore regained the lead for his side after they ball fell at his feet when Crawley keeper Simon Rayner parried away Robbie Lawton's shot.

However, the Reds refused to give up as they rallied late on in an attempt to get something from the game.

But when Robbie Matthews failed to score from a header with three minutes to go it seemed as if it just wasn't their night.

This was until a minute later when Wilson stunned the home crowd into silence with a well-taken goal from eight yards out to make it 2-2.

Altrincham bookings: McGregor, Lane, Doughty.

Crawley Town bookings: Quinn, Rankin.
