Graham Heathcote's Altrincham staged a memorable comeback from a two-goal deficit to earn a share of the spoils against Eastbourne Borough at Moss Lane on Tuesday evening.
The visitors made a flying start to the game with Altrincham goalkeeper Stuart Coburn denying Jack Jeffery and Daniel Brown in the opening three minutes.
However, he was unable to stop Jeffery from breaking the deadlock in the eighth minute as the striker fired a powerful volley into the top-left corner from inside the box.
The hosts were on the back foot and fell further behind in the 38th minute when Ben Austin fired a long-range effort into the bottom-right corner to make it 2-0.
Eastbourne let their guard down after that and were made to pay as Robins forward Colin Little popped up just before the half-time break to tap home from close range.
The hosts gave a better account of themselves in the second period after suffering a scare shortly after the restart.
The referee had to be replaced in the 52nd minute and the game was subsequently held up for five minutes as a replacement was briefed.
Altrincham drew level in the 69th minute when Shaun Densmore fired a 22-yard free kick into the top-right corner to send the home fans into rapturous applause.
