Altrincham v Mansfield

Graham Heathcote's Altrincham prepare for the visit of Mansfield Town to Moss Lane on Saturday as they look to stretch their unbeaten run to eight games.

Heathcote is not expected to make many changes from the players who lined up against Rushden & Diamonds last week.

However, Greg Young and Colin Little are pushing for starting berths after making a return to contention against the Diamonds.

Striker Dale Johnson is struggling with a knee injury but midfielder Robbie Lawton will be available for selection.

Looking ahead to Saturday's clash, Heathcote told Sale & Altrincham Messenger: "It's no fluke if you are in the top eight after 15 games, but the question now is what happens next.

"I've had sides in the past who have got themselves into good positions, albeit not this high, but have fallen away, rather than pushing on. I happen to believe these players are better than that and are capable of remaining where they are, or even going a bit higher.

"But they have to make that a reality. There can be no easing up and thinking the pressure is off, and I have spoken to them about what their ambitions need to be.

"The next two games, at home to Mansfield and Luton, are absolutely vital in terms of players' attitude and support from the terraces. I want to see a belief that we can compete with the so-called top teams and give them a game.

"It's Oxford after that and the aim must be to go there, having made a statement about sticking around near the top."

Mansfield boss David Holdsworth is sweating on the fitness of a number of players ahead of Saturday's clash at Altrincham.

Goalkeeper Alan Marriott should shake off an ankle injury in time to play, while there are doubts over Kyle Nix (quadricep) and Craig Armstrong (hamstring).

Defender Luke Jones remains sidelined with a serious ankle injury.
