Chester boss Jim Harvey
Graham Heathcote's Altrincham moved up to tenth place in the league standings on Saturday with a fairly comfortable derby victory over Chester City at Deva Stadium.
Chester lost the services of influential loan duo Johnny Flynn and Michael Coulson in midweek and it was evident at the weekend as they struggled to contain the Robins.
The visitors opened their account in the 22nd minute when Shaun Densmore's inviting cross was headed home by Colin Little from close range.
The Robins continued to press forward and doubled their advantage ten minutes later when Rob Williams smashed a left-footed volley into the roof of the net.
Chester gave a better account of themselves in the second period and, after a sustained period of pressure, Glenn Rule gave them a way back into the game.
The recalled right-back collected the ball about 35 yards out and unleashed a powerful shot on his weaker foot, which flew into the top corner.
However, Altrincham put the result beyond doubt in injury time when Densmore and Little combined to set up Chris Senior, who guided the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.
