Histon 0-0 Altrincham

Histon and Altrincham both remained locked in mid-table following their 0-0 draw at the Glassworld Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The lack of goals was made up for in effort from both sides, but it was just not happening in front of goal, leaving supporters frustrated in the stands.

The Robins should have taken a 1-0 lead into the break, but John McAliskey could not keep his header down, adding to the frustration which was visible from both sides.

The second half took a similar route as the first as the visitors squandered a glorious chance when Chris Senior's effort was brilliantly blocked by Matthew Langston.

Both managers made just one substitution in the second half, further proving how difficult the sides found proceedings that even the hierarchy felt it wasn't necessary to go for the jugular.

In terms of genuine goalscoring opportunities, Altrincham should have walked away with a maximum points haul, but they failed to convert when it was required and the match ended with neither side able to breach the opposition's goalline.

The draw leaves Histon in 12th position with 31 points, while Altrincham are a place and point above their hosts on the table.
