Barrow 0-0 Northwich

Barrow held fellow-strugglers Northwich Victoria to a goalless draw at Holker Street on Saturday afternoon despite being reduced to ten men on the hour mark.

The match produced little in the way of goalscoring chances with both sides struggling to stamp their dominance on proceedings.

With chances at a premium, Barrow's Peter Winn will be cursing his luck after seeing his 12th-minute free kick go straight into the arms of Northwich goalkeeper Ryan Clarke.

Northwich and Barrow were resorting to long-range efforts in a bid to break the deadlock but a lack of accuracy from both teams meant the first-half ended in stalemate.

The defining moment of the match came on the hour mark, when Barrow's Steve McNulty was handed his marching orders for foul and abusive language.

He'll be grateful that his stupidity didn't cost his side the game as the Bluebirds dug in their heels and held out for a valuable point.

Barrow bookings: McNulty 41.

Sent off: McNulty 60.

Northwich bookings: Byrom 66, Aspin 76, Allan 90.

Ref: P Curry.

Att: 1437.
