Kedwell: Bagged a brace

Grays 3-1 Droylsden

Grays Athletic moved into the top half of the Blue Square Premier table with a comfortable win against Droylsden on Thursday evening.

The home side opened their account after 11 minutes when Marlon Patterson's cross from the left wing found Danny Kedwell and the striker went on to place his 12-yard effort in the bottom-left corner.

However, Droylsden fashioned an instant reply as Dale Johnson headed in the equaliser just two minutes later.

Grays reclaimed the lead in the 64th minute when Danny Kedwell collected a Stuart Thurgood pass on the left-hand side of the box and placed his 25-yard effort in the bottom-left corner.

The Bloods were unable to stem the Grays tide as Jamie Taylor hit the bar with a long-range effort before Barry Cogan put the final nail in the coffin with four minutes left on the clock.

Grays bookings: Downer.

Droylsden bookings: Mackin.
