Relegated Droylsden were unable to make their home advantage count as they played to a goalless draw with Woking at Butchers Arms on Tuesday evening.
The Bloods started brightly and almost drew first blood in the 8th minute but Terry Fearns' 18-yard effort was saved well by Woking goalkeeper Nick Gindre.
However, Fearns was not to be denied in the 35th minute as he fired a right-footed effort into the top-right corner.
The Cards brought on Goma Lambu for Liam Marum in the 63rd minute and he had an instant impact.
Lambu made some space for himself on the left flank and sent in an inviting cross which was tapped in by Matt Pattison at the right-hand side of the penalty area.
