Histon 1-3 Halifax

Chris Wilder's Halifax Town played out of their skins as they beat play-off hopefuls Histon in their first away win since November.

Tom Clarke, Gareth Davies and Anthony Griffith were all on target as they dominated this Blue Square Premier encounter.

Danny Forrest came close early on when his pile driver smashed the Histon crossbar but the deadlock was broken when Tom Clarke expertly headed home, a well taken corner, from Matt Doughty in the 32nd minute.

Gareth Davies was on hand to double the score as he directed Simon Heslop's cross goalwards on 32 minutes. And Anthony Griffith put the tie beyond doubt with his 53-minute effort from close range.

Antonio Murray excellent long-range effort was no more than a consolation when he netted with 30 minutes still left on the clock.

Histon bookings: Cambridge 45.

Halifax bookings: Quinn 6, Legzdins 89.
